Resolutions

In Relief Society we were challenged to memorize by Easter

The Living Christ
The Testimony of the Apostles
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

I decided to invite my whole family to memorize it with me.  We started Sunday night, and divided the first sentence into three parts:  1)As we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ two millennia ago, 2)we offer our testimony of the reality of His matchless life 3)and the infinite virtue of His great atoning sacrifice."  We have learned the first two parts in the last two days.  If we work consistently we should be able to memorize all 13 paragraphs by Easter, April 8.

It is a full page with a lot of big words (commemorate, millennia, instituted, solemnity) that are difficult for small mouths to pronounce.  I've been pleased with how readily everyone has been able to learn, even 6 year old Caleb.

We each made other goals for 2012, but I think this is the one I am most excited about.  I want my family to focus on what is really important in life, and I hope this will help us to do that.

  2. Great goals. Cope is going to memorize The Living Christ with her YW leader for her Faith Project. You can recite together for the family talent show in June :)
